We have always loved the classic design of vintage Braun appliances and electronics. From the SK8 Record player by Dieter Rams (1956) to the electric shavers, calculators and electric kitchen mixers of the 60′s and 70′s, Braun has always championed minimalist, honest design. In all, Dieter Rams spent 40 years designing for Braun, a proponent of the maxim “less and more”, his designs have influenced a slew of younger designers, from Jonathan Ive (Apple) to Jasper Morrison (Rowenta). In 1971, in Dietrich Lubs and Dieter Rams co-designed a series of travel alarm clocks. Luckily for us, they have been recently reissued based on the original designs. This voice activated alarm clock by Braun features an easy to read dial, crescendo alarm and near silent German precision quartz movement. The voice activation feature allows you to turn on the snooze function simply by making a noise at the alarm. An alarm clock that won’t make you feel silly for yelling at it in the morning - brilliant! Includes a AA battery.
