The items are made of sandstone unique to Hasami region in Japan, which mixes sand and rocks with local Amakusa porcelain stone. This creates the ceramic-like organic texture, while ensuring durability of high quality porcelain. The iron in the sandstone also reacts with the glaze to create deep nuanced expressions.

Microwave and dishwasher safe. Do not overheat in the microwave or heat without water. Wash with care. Do not use abrasive cleansers or steel wool. Product size and shape varies in each item due to manufacturing process. Appearance of colour glaze unevenness varies in each item. Some products may take on scorched-like texture on the surface. It is a unique glaze effect called "yo-hen", unintended colour transformation show on the ceramic and porcelain after firing.
